Santa Drops in to Queenstown Airport!
Christmas came to Queenstown Airport this year in the form of a parachuting Santa, and his kiwi mates. RED NZ had fun creating more of an 'action' Christmas look for the airport, and it was certainly a talking point for many of the children and tourists who passed through the terminal over the past month.
Keep an eye out for the next installation, which will feature popular Queenstown summer activities.

Turbo Film Premiere & Party!
Red Events recently teamed up with a bunch of super charged Snails (yes snails!), and Rainbow Rascals to stage the opening party/ premiere of the full length animated feature Turbo at the Botany Town Centre.
Hundreds of kids and more than a few adults turned out to what was a very colourful and fun-filled event which even included a snail obstacle course. Yes - you really needed to be there!!
RED NZ Heads to Australia
Mike and Toni were in Australia earlier this month as part of the Destination Queenstown Roadshow, along with 28 other local operators. Trying to add some pizzaz to your stand is always a tough ask, but we thought we did quite well with our 'film strip photos' and 'blue chaser lights'.
The Ivy in George Street was our venue in Sydney, and the ballroom at The Royce hotel hosted us in Melbourne. There was a great turnout in both cities, and we really enjoyed meeting and talking to clients at both events.
Being on a Roadshow such as this, really gives you a feel for what the market is doing, and it looks like Australia will continue to be a strong C&I market over the next year!

Epic Movie Launch at Westfield
20th Century Fox's movie Epic was the basis for the latest attraction at Westfield St Lukes. It was an interactive experience for kids, where they met the characters from Epic, on their way to meet Nim. Once inside Nim's house, their colouring competition forms were changed into real animation on screen, by a process known as 'augmented reality'.
RED NZ and Boston Digital staff worked all night to bring the attraction alive, creating the magical world which was on display for 9 days during the July school holidays.
Let's Lego at Lynnmall
The Let's Lego school holiday attraction at Lynnmall in Auckland was set up by the RED NZ team last weekend. Running through the second week of the school holidays it gives kids a chance to build models and receive tips from expert model-makers, while also being in the running to win a family trip to Legoland California. We created a bright space with mocked up lego pieces, and divided it into four coloured zones with large tables to build on. Carpet in four colours finishes off the space, making the area look like a giant Lego set.
What Lego model would you want to build if you were given the chance?

NZ Premiere of "The Internship"
The Internship is the latest movie release from 20th Century Fox NZ, and Air New Zealand rolled out the red (green, yellow, blue...) carpet for the NZ premiere last week.
Mike Stockham from RED NZ created a fun Google office setting for the guests to enjoy a pre-show event, as well as an entrance featuring a red carpet adapted to reflect the traditional Google colours.

Celtic Mana Style in Queenstown
Working with Simon Green from The Main Event, and Queenstown's Tom Tom Productions on the Celtic Mana show at the Events Centre provided a change of pace for the RED NZ team in April. The fully-staged show merged Scottish pipers with Maori music, creating a haunting mix of cultures to showcase to the international guests. Tartan, flame lamps, and a Scottish castle flanked one side of the stage, while NZ ferns, Maori designs and carvings created a NZ backdrop on the other side. The two merged into one across the front of the stage with tartan merged into a Koru symbol. Digital imagery projected onto massive sails behind the stage depicted the journey from Scotland to NZ.
The entertainment was fantastic, the sound & lighting production was excellent, and we would recommend this show to anyone wanting to stage a first-class entertainment experience for their guests.
The Croods Family Fun Day at Mission Bay
RED Events, with Stars on Ice, were pleased to welcome characters from The Croods amimated movie to a family day at the More FM Mission Bay on Ice rink.

Theming for Moa Beer at the PGA
RED NZ has been busy theming a variety of venues this week for Moa Beer's involvement at the PGA. There are gold clubs and golf greens on the roof of The Naughty Penguin bar in Queenstown, miniature greens and a retro golf set-up at the Hilton Hotel, and a retro classroom & rustic bar set-up, including a 1920's beach scene at The Hills golf course.
It's great to be working with a client who pushes the boundaries on theming ideas! Get along to the golf and enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment at the Moa bars on the 15th and 19th.
Hitchcock Movie Premiere NZ
We live in such a digital age that it was great fun to break out the old cinematic projectors ( The size of small fridges !!!!! ) cameras, clapper boards, movie lights, etc and stage a call of “ lights, camera, action “ for the NZ premiere of the 20th Century Fox film Hitchcock, at the Berkley cinemas Mission Bay on Sat 26th Jan. And to think that now we just load in a DVD, not a film reel in sight and not nearly the same fun !!
